Normality in Design

A multimedia design system for my design hero, Naoto Fukasawa

During the summer of 2023, I had the opportunity to work at Ford and attend immersive vehicle event where I learned about the EV lease partnership between Ford and Uber. For my independent intern project, I designed additional interfaces to the current Uber mobile app to motivate passengers to choose a sustainable ride-share experience.

Naoto Fukasawa

Naoto Fukasawa is a Japanese product designer whose believes the opportunity
in design is found in people's unconsciousness behaviors, often conveyed as
"design dissolving in behavior."

Going in to this project I was thinking

How can I demonstrate Fukasawa's philosophy through graphic design?

Poster

A poster to introduce Fukasawa's design philosophy with simplicity and boldness. I aimed to visually demonstrate the meaning of the phrase "design dissolving in behavior."

Booklet

An 8 page booklet to introduce the details of Fukasawa's career and timeline.

Motion

A 60 second reel that captures Fukasawa's design philosophy, audio and graphic assets edited and animated by myself.

Mobile Experience

A translation of the booklet into a mobile experience, focused on animating the UI that best fits the type of information.
